Thomas William Stott 1827-1890

Thomas was my husband's great great grandfather and father of Sarah.

St Mary Magdalene, Woolwich

He was born to Charles and Amelia on 13th June 1827 at the Artillery Barracks, Greenwich, London. His father was a gunner in the Royal Artilllery. Thomas was baptised on the 8th July at Saint Mary Magdalene,Woolwich, Kent.

Thomas followed his father into the military on 19th August 1840 and was also a Royal Artillery Gunner.

He married Sarah Ann Palmer on 12th June 1855 at Saint Mary Magdalene,Woolwich.

The family moved regularly with the Army and their children were born in Hampshire, Malta and Ireland. Thomas was also posted to the West Indies. His record states that he was a Master Gunner Royal Artillery (sergeant) - Discharged 1867 Coast Brigade R.A. Rank: Master Gunner 3rd Class Regimental Number: 3243

Thomas has been widowed by the time of the 1881 census and is living at 15 Silver Street, Newton, Lancashire with his children Amelia, Walter and Robert.

I don't have any record of Thomas after this.
